Wahana Espresso 2009

Other info Single farm blend consisting 33.3% each of Ra

This blend came about from an idea rather than any experience of how it might turn out. This is the first time that we have had three different processing methods of the same coffee from one farm, and I was excited to see how it might work out in a blend. There is a common thread with all these beans, but they are also so different. I could see how this could add some amazing complexity to an espresso and luckily it really did.

The blend is 33.3% Sumatra Wahana Natural, 33.3% Sumatra Wahana Pulped Natural, and 33.3% Sumatra Wahana Washed. Simple make up tough as complex in flavour as can be tasted. This may not be for everyone because there is so much going on, though there is a common glue running all the way through it.

In the cup you get HUGE body, big bold earthy spicy tones with a wicked acidity, cider notes and delicious silky mouthfeel with milk chocolate hints, along with christmas cake with pepper hints in the mix. It really is a whole heap of complexity.

This blend cuts through milk like nothing else. It is cappuccino heaven.

Please note: Not for home roasting. This needs to be post blended, so it is not available in green.
