Other info Varietal: Bourbon, N5 and Kent-425

I have struggled for a long time to find a Tanzanian coffee that I could put my hat on. None of it is bad, but generally none of it is exceptional either.

Then these two lots came along.

The Hope project is based in the Ileje region of Mbeya, which is the largest production area of Tanzanian Arabica coffee. The Ileje district is more mountainous than the rest of Mbeya, and coffee farming provides useful protection from erosion.

Production in the region is divided into three categories; small holder processed (hand-pulped), small holder processed at central pulperies (CPUs), and estate coffees. CPUs were re-introduced into the region in 2003, and it is from these 23 CPUs that the Hope project coffees hail.

In the cup expect amazing sweetness with a delicious, boozy, acidity. See fudge and raisins collide with rum to make a classic combination. Then the aftertaste just goes on and on.
