Grown in a number of small farms in the Acatenango region, this fully washed coffee is produced at around 1500 mtrs above sea level, and it is all processed at the Puerta Blanca wet mill, in Acatenango.

The mill is a very improtant link in the process, bringing small gorwers together to find a route to market with their product whilst keeping some control over quality of the final cup. The Puerta Blanca mill was founded in the year 2000 to service the area's small, quality-focused group of farmers. It adheres to rigorous standards to ensure that the high quality of their beans is not compromised. The mill also offers support to its producers, giving technical advice, providing organic fertiliser such as treated pulp, and in some cases also lending financial support for the fertilising and harvesting seasons.

Acatenango is in the south of Guatamala, near to the city of Antigua.

In the cup expect satsumas, with a brown sugar sweetness, maybe even a little caramelised, and a toasted nuts finish.
