The Fany Farm has been producing coffee in El Salvador since 1870, and has belonged to the same family from generation to generation. On the Santa Ana Volcano the farm provides work for 24 families in the community. Located in a biological corridor, that stretches from Mexico to panama for 27 hectares, full of 100% of bourbon coffees.

El Salvador's total coffee production nearly 70% of bourbon coffee, which is one of the most desired coffee varietals. It's harder to grow, more susceptible to disease, produces a lower yield but often produces some of the finest coffee.

I love El Salvador for this dedication to producing awesome speciality coffee. This is one of its finest, and I love this coffee. I was lucky enough to visit Rafael and Carmen in May 2008 and this was one of the highlights for me after many years of been a big fan. Take a look at some of my favourite pictures from this trip below

This shade grown coffee is creamy and sweet, and blew us away when we first tried it. This year its even better, one of my all time favourites, one of the coffees I'd be devastated if we were not able to get it. The cup leaves you with a mouth full of caramel. It's a must try, even if you have had it before, coffee at it's best.
