||El Salvador Alaska Juan José Ernesto Menéndez Arguello
||Cup of Excellence, Orange Bourbon
This was the penultimate auction of the summer, it was a difficult and expensive time. This auction was no different with a big raise on the prices paid last year. This was by my favourite coffee from the offerings in the auction. I also feel a very close affinity for El Salvador as I love there coffees and love they way they communicate with there buyers.
That extra mile they go is shown in the photos at the links below, and the wonderful emails I received from Juan José, these little things make it all very personable.

Alaska farm is located only 55 minutes away from Santa Ana city, on the northwest slopes of the Santa Ana volcano, one of the most privileged coffee growing areas in El Salvador. The microclimate, fauna and flora, together with incredible landscapes allow this farm to have enormous eco tourism potential as well.
In the cup expect Sweet and smooth with buttery caramel that's stunning in espresso. A very elegant coffee with great sweet after taste.
