Another fine cup of excellence coffee, we are very lucky to have. Were the only people selling this in the UK, not because others don't want it, but we paid the premium for it because we think it is truly very special coffee. In this years competition it came 14 out of 20 that made it to auction but pay no attention to this, anything that makes it to the cup of excellence auction is great coffee and for me this was the very best from this competition.

Colombia is unusual as it has two competitions each year in the cup of excellence to cover the two harvest periods. This is the first year and second competition and it grows from strength to strength.

In the cup expect a bright and sweet coffee and a honey tones with a zip of green apple in the background. But the biggest thing for me is the purity in the cup, amazingly clean that lets the flavours come through. With this there are challenges in the roast. Too much the roast takes over. Too little and the awesome flavours remain locked inside the bean.

I have been a coffee grower all my life. I started helping my father in his farm. Then, several years after, I inherited the farm from him. I am a dedicated grower, well compromised with my farm.

Environmental Care

I take special care of the shade trees, the water sources and I don't apply chemical products for pest control.

Coffee Processing Information

Chemical fertilisation is done once per year, we apply 100 grams per tree. Pests are culturally controlled. The main harvest is between June and July.
