Black Blend 12: Blake 2019

Summary

Bean name Black Blend 12: Blake 2019
Other info Blend - see description for bean content

Description

This is Blake, our black blend. It celebrates a more syrupy, natural process-led espresso.

The name Blake is a hat-tip to my old school Blake Comprehensive and also a nod to the origins of this blend, it was created to deliver a slightly more punchy 'old school' experience - so the name of my old school felt like a perfect fit!

Our range of coffees here at Hasbean change with the seasons so throughout the year different coffees come and go, as this happens we update our blends to reflect that seasonality. The coffees in this season’s Blake are...

50% Guatemala El Limon Natural Bourbon
30% Ethiopia Ana Sora Natural
20% Guatemala El Limon Black Honey x Natural

Dried fruit, treacle syrup, fig, sultana

Roast Information
Medium-dark - slow it down once you reach crack and drop this with the very first pops of second crack.

Brew Recipe Recommendation
Dose: 18g
Yield: 35g
Time: 28–32 seconds

Resting Recommendation
We recommend a 5-7 day rest after the date of roasting before brewing this coffee as espresso, but there's a lot of personal preference in that so, by all means, please brew whenever you like! But we recommend allowing 5-7 days.
