Description

Yauco Selecto is the premium coffee from the Puerto Rica, from which there is a limited harvest every year. We stocked it before (two / three years ago), but have disappointed in recent years, when I’ve been able to sample some.
When I cupped this one I was pleased to see a lot of the things I liked about it a few years ago seemed to return. It’s a well balanced cup, with a creamy buttery taste and chocolate undertones of almond. A rare, interesting coffee well worth a try.

This creamy cup reminds me in many ways of Kenyan coffees, its silky smooth and has great body. But the more you drink the more it moves from the “Kenyan” profile and tastes very similar to the Jamaican blue mountain type taste with its rich full body flavour. A very special coffee that should be enjoyed on a special occasion.
