Description

Kangocho Factory is 115 Km from Nairobi and 5 Km from Karatina town along the Nairobi – Nyeri highway. This area lies at an altitude of 1600 M ASL on the fertile foothills of Mt. Kenya and Aberdare ranges slope.

Kangocho Factory is wholly owned by member coffee growers and affiliated to Gikanda Farmers co-operative society. A total of 697 active members out of 781 registered members deliver their coffee to the factory, who on average over the last six years shipped 464952kg of coffee

In this area the farmers mainly grow SL 28 and SL 34 while the main crop season is between October – December.

This is a fully washed, submerged under water, and sun-dried coffee using african bed drying tables instead of patios.

All interesting, but not as interesting as in the cup. Here we find a different cup to the Karatina, instead of all that sweetness, this has the typical red wine like acidity, with plums and white grape and a super clean and pleasing finish.

Roasting Information:
Just past first crack, maybe barely into second if you must, but this is a great medium roast coffee so don't spoil it.

"Quick Look" Guide:
Red wine, plums, white grape, super clean.

Good Filter: Yes, Good Espresso: No
