Description

We only sell 100% Blue Mountain that can be verified and traced back to where it came from. We also buy estate Blue mountain, and not just any. It's like going to the fishmongers and saying I'd like some fish, not all Blue Mountain tastes the same. We won't sell you a blend of it or something that isn't this is 100% certified Blue Mountain.

The story of Blue Mountain for me is a sad one. A once truly great coffee that got over produced over hyped and sadly doesn't live up to its reputation on the whole. With most of the good stuff going to Japan (over 70% of all Blue Mountain grown does so) it's tough. But fortunately due partly I guess old colonial links and partly due to the sole UK importer having some fine cupping skills we are able to offer a blue mountain that delivers a quality cup still.

For me it still remains a little of a n experience coffee, and for me it's not a high scorer on the cupping table but that's because of what it is. The reason it became so popular that it was ok at everything. It's balanced its smooth it's not too acidic it's not too bland its adequate.

Rarely does something fetch a huge premium for being ok but Blue Mountain does.

But this one from the Clydesdale estate is super balanced, classic coffee with rich flavour, full body, and a smooth interesting acidity. Not an everyday drink, but an experience that if you haven't done yet you must. In the cup expect sweetness with a hints of pine and sandalwood. This is an exquisite cup that's very special. This is a Coffee event.
