So another El Salvador, but this is a little bit special. It's the brand new farm from El Salvador for us, but from an old friend Ernesto Menendez (La Illusion/Alaska fame), but for the first time this is part of our direct trade program. Were a huge fan of Ernesto and his coffees, so I'm very excited to present these to you. He only took over the farm 18 months ago and this is his first crop. He spent much of the year ripping out plant stock and pruning back, so it's a tiny tiny lot. So he had some for us and some to enter the Cup of Excellence where he finished 23rd.

So the history of the farm. The farm “Las Brumas” is located 45 minutes from the City of Santa Ana. It has a cultivated area of 60 hectares of coffee at an altitude ranging from 1450 to 1700 msnm and an area of 30 hectares of virgin mountain at an altitude of 1700 to 2000 msnm. It's in the Canton Tunalmiles part of Sonsonate Department near the area known as San Blas.

When I visited last year "Neto" had got the workers to stop replanting and cleared the road up to the forest section. Since he bought the farm he had not been able to get up there, but wanted to share with me the first time he got to see it. It was amazing and I love the place.

In the cup is a Mon-Cheri fest, straight back to the 70’s sweets with liquid cherry in chocolate, with a huge body and amazing chocolate aftertaste.

Roasting Information:
Take to the first pops of second with this get a sheen but no oils.
