Description

We have had this relationship Colombian for many years, so when we got the chance to try some Swiss water decaffeinated we jumped at the chance.

We buy coffee from a specific group or growers' association, for an agreed period of time and for a fixed price that isn't dependent on the international market price. This price not only covers production costs, but also a quality and a social premium to help communities and to make sure a fair price is paid.

This does however come with conditions for the farmer. Farmers must make a commitment to raising the quality of their coffee and also the quality of life in their community. Farmers don't want charity, they want a fair price for a high quality speciality coffee. This kind of agreement ensures that every one wins, from the farmer all the way through to you, the consumer. In the cup this coffee is a great example of what can be achieved with this kind of close working relationship between the farmer, the importer and the roaster. Produced by around 50 small coffee growers from the municipality of Palestina, Huila, it's a smooth, well balanced drink with a hint of nuts and a slight, balancing acidity with an incredibly smooth after-taste with out the caffeine hit.
