Description

The municipality of Consaca is located geographically at the north-west side of the department of Nariño. Two rivers, Guaitara and Pacual, surround the area.

The group members that contributed to this lot are: Vicente Mora, Rodrigo Rodriguez, Nuvia Rodriguez, Silvio Delgado, Luis Guerra, Ismenia Rosero, Maria Moreno, Ingrid Glavez and Augusto Lopez.

The average temperature in the area ranges between 18 to 24 Celsius. The soils in the Consaca municipality are rocky and volcanic, and they provide the coffee plantations with excellent basic nutrients. The production area at the farms is on average 0.9 Ha.

These farms are run basically as family businesses where every member contributes in the plantations and production. The wet milling process used is the conventional washed process and after fermentation the parchment is sun-dried on patios.

In the cup expect an amazingly complex cup which has so many flavours packed in that each time I taste it something new is found. It has a sweet front end that is chocolate smoothness, with a big fruit sweetness. There is a lovely stone fruit flavour on the back end, and a tasty melon and grape.
