Description

Another old favourite returns after a while out of the range with this one of the first exotic coffees we ever stocked. Australia is a very new region to growing coffee, and has many unique problems compared to traditional growing origins. Grown in Atherton Tablelands above Cairns in Far North Queensland. The farm produces around 150 tonnes a year, and is run by just 8 people! So you can guess it's quite mechanised but this is to keep the labour costs down which will be much higher in Australia that most coffee growing areas.
Don't be put off by the way the beans look, there are some broken ones and some different screen sizes, but we judge coffee purely on the taste, and it's a very good consistent coffee.

In the cup as in previous years it is very smooth, balanced with rich flavour and a full body, with great buttery tones. It reminds me very much of Jamaican Blue Mountain, but at a fraction of the price.
